Let's Get Started

Navigate to Generative AI Studio. You will see two sections labeled Language and Speech.

Language

Begin by clicking on the Open button under the Language section.

Within this section, you’ll find two main parts: Get Started and Prompt Examples. Under Prompt Examples, you can test the model, while the Get Started section allows you to create your prompts.

Creating a Custom Prompt

In the Get Started section, click the + Text prompt button. Enter a simple query like Generate a couple of names for my dog and hit Submit. You should receive a response in just a moment.

To save your prompt for later use, simply click the Save button, and it will appear in the My prompts tab.

Next, let’s utilize the Prompt Examples section. Scroll down and locate the Kindergarten Science Teacher card, then click on the Open button to explore.

This section has three main windows: Context, Examples, and Responses.

• Examples: This aids the model in understanding what a good response looks like. You can add your own example inputs and outputs or leverage the Test section for real response samples.
• Responses: This window displays the ongoing chat between you and the model.

Try asking, Why did you choose these names? and review the model’s response.

Speech

Next, let’s explore the Speech section by clicking the Open button.

You’ll find two tabs here: Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text.

Text-To-Speech

In the Text-to-Speech tab, enter the text: Beginner friendly tutorial on how to use Generative AI Studio by Google. Sit back, relax, and let the AI do the work for you. After inputting the text, click Submit.

Wait a few seconds for the model to process your request, then click the Play button to listen to the output. Don’t forget to download it using the Download button for later use!

Speech-To-Text

Now, switch to the Speech-to-Text tab. Click the Browse button to upload the audio file you just downloaded. After a brief processing time, click Submit to see your text result.
