Over the past eight months, David Cogen has been living a double life, seamlessly transitioning from the role of a content creator on YouTube to the bustling world of entrepreneurship. The Birth of Coffee Check

His journey into the coffee industry began when he found himself needing a new workspace after his previous lease expired. Initially geared to be a workspace, David had a business idea that didn't pan out as expected. However, upon discovering a street-facing entrance, he decided to pivot and transform his new space into a vibrant coffee roastery and eventually opened a café called Coffee Check.

A Local Gem in Greenpoint

Since its opening in late August, Coffee Check quickly became a hotspot in Greenpoint. Despite its unassuming location down a residential street, the café has earned its reputation, attracting a constant flow of customers. The shop features an airy, open layout with a long bar counter and a communal wooden table that invites camaraderie among patrons.

Designed for Creators

David’s tech background is evident in the café's design elements, from the numerous power outlets available for digital nomads to speedy Wi-Fi that keeps patrons connected. The smart lighting not only enhances the aesthetic but is also tailored to nurture the indoor plants scattered throughout the space.
