Sonos App Update: A Message from the CEO
Dear Sonos Community,
We know that many of you have experienced notable challenges with our newly launched app, which rolled out on May 7. I want to take a moment to sincerely apologize for any disappointment we’ve caused. Every employee at Sonos shares in the pain of having let you down, and I assure you that fixing the app for all our customers and partners is our highest priority.
Our Commitment to Improvement
The new app was developed to enhance your experience, to drive innovation, and to improve over time. However, since its launch, we've identified several issues that have postponed our plans to incorporate the missing features and functionalities that you expect from us.
Regular Software Updates
Since May 7, we have consistently released software updates approximately every two weeks, each designed to implement significant enhancements, add features, and fix bugs. For detailed information regarding what has been addressed in each update, please refer to the release notes for Sonos software updates.
Our Roadmap for Upcoming Improvements
While our continuous software updates have improved the app experience for many, we recognize there is still work to be done. Our immediate goals for the next software updates include:

July and August:
- Enhancing stability when adding new products.
- Implementing features for configuring, browsing, searching, and playing from the Music Library.

August and September:
- Improving responsiveness of volume controls.
- Implementing user interface improvements based on your feedback.
- Enhancing overall system stability and error handling.

September:
- Improving the consistency and reliability of alarms.

September and October:
- Restoring edit mode for Playlists and the Queue.
- Improving settings functionality.
Looking Ahead
We intend to maintain a bi-weekly release schedule for software updates. Following each release, we will update you with detailed notes on what has been addressed, and what we're focusing on next through our community platform.
